Thursday – Night on the Town

You will need a designated driver or taxi for this one.

Thursday night choices can be hit or miss, being Cinco De Mayo and Day 4 of Eugene Beer Week means there are more choices than you may have the stamina, or the liver for, we’ve narrowed it down:

El Patron: Pancho Sanchez – The Shedd, 7:30pm – $38+. According to the Shedd: “If music were about pictures, percussionist Poncho Sanchez’smusic would best be described as a kaleidoscopic swirl of some of the hottest colors and brightest lights to emerge from either side of the border.” According to us: In out of the rain, yes its coming, hot Latin jazz, great sounding room, and you rarely get this in Eugene.

Revolución: Los Mex Pistols Del Norte – Oak Street Speakeasy, 9pm – FREE. Think of a raging bull with a matador in his sights. The revolution weekend starts here. Bring a designated driver, bring your crew and be prepared to dance, sweat and indulge. If you haven’t heard LMPDN, cancel all other plans and hit the Speakeasy. Watch for the EDN Sombrero…

Americano: Adventure Galley – Agate Alley, 10pm, $3. Decidedly not a Cinco experience, but Adventure Galley gets better and better. Imagine Arcade Fire meets The Killers meets The Clash. The casually indie synth driven songs will strike your dance bone.
