You read about this battle of ancient beverages in my article The Cheese Wars: Wine v. Beer, and another Cheese Wars is coming our way on January 5, 2012. Cheese Wars is a food-pairing showdown between two beloved beverages: beer and wine.
In this third round of Cheese Wars, 16 Tons will feature 5 courses of rustic, gourmet cheese, many coming from local sources, and each cheese course will be paired with a beer and a wine. Ninkasi founder and Brewmaster Jamie Floyd will choose and present the beers while Winemaker Chris Williams of Brooks Winery out of Amity, Oregon will choose and present the wines. In this entertaining and interactive sit down event, you decide which pairings work best!
100 percent of ticket sales will go directly to Greenhill Humane Society, the largest animal shelter in Lane County where over two-thousand lives of dogs, cats and small animals are saved each year.
Tickets are limited and pre-sale only. $25 includes all tasting and food (cheese and bread). Each session is approximately 2 hours.
Session One: 5:30 pm
Session Two: 8:00 pm
Purchase advance tickets in person at 16 Tons, Supreme Bean or BrownPaperTickets.com
I will be attending the second session, hope to see you there. GO WINE!
