Tim Chuey Weather:

There will be more clouds in the sky today through Sunday, but the showers won’t return until late Sunday night.

High: 75
Low: 36
Forecast: Partly Cloudy

An upper air trough of low pressure (“U” shape on orange line) has increased onshore airflow bringing in some more clouds. The chance of rain will sneak in late Sunday night and Monday as more frontal systems head our way. For you skywatchers there will be an annular eclipse of the Sun on Sunday evening. Western Oregon is off the path of best viewing, but you should be able to see the moon covering the lower 2/3 of the Sun. For viewing instructions go to this address . Look for partly cloudy skies today through Sunday in Florence for the 105th Rhododendron Festival. There will be a slight chance of sprinkles Sunday, but that shouldn’t hamper any of the festivities. For more details concerning the weekend’s events go to: Rhododendron Festival calendar from the Florence Chamber of Commerce.

Forecast for the Southern and lower Mid Willamette Valley including Eugene-Springfield and Albany-Corvallis: Partly cloudy with scattered frost in outlying early this AM, partly cloudy this afternoon through Saturday night, a mix of clouds and sun Sunday, mostly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of showers Sunday night highs 65-75 lows 36-50. Mostly cloudy with a good (50%) chance of rain Monday and Monday night, mostly cloudy with a (40%) chance of showers Tuesday, a (30%) chance of showers Tuesday night, mostly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of showers Wednesday and Wednesday night, then a mix of clouds and sun with a slight (20%) chance of rain Thursday highs 67-62 warming to 66 Thursday lows 49-45. (seasonal averages high 68 low 44)

Because weather forecasting is a combination of science, intuition, and timing there can be no absolute guarantees that individual forecasts will be 100% accurate. Nature is in a constant state of flux and sudden unexpected weather events can happen.
