Emeralds Homestand Promotions: August 11-18

EUGENE EMERALDS PRESS RELEASE

The Eugene Emeralds, Single-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, return to PK Park for a Saturday-through-Saturday homestand against the Tri-City Dust Devils and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. The promotions feature a Steve Profontaine Bobblehead and David Freese Jersey. Fans will be able to name their own ticket price on Good Karma Monday and watch the Emeralds take the field as the Springfield Emeralds. See below for a description of events for each game:

Saturday, August 11th at 7:05:
It is Star Wars Night, part of Showtime Saturday presented by Pepsi. Come check out your favorite Star Wars characters and take pictures with them along the concourse. The night will be themed accordingly, so come dressed to theme. The Emeralds will be making a $1,000 donation to Children’s Miracle Network for the night.

Sunday, August 12th at 1:05:
Come out for Springfield Night, where the Ems will turn into the Springfield Emeralds for the night. The team will be wearing special pinstripe Springfield uniforms with hats that have the drift boat, the symbol of Springfield. Mayor Christine Lundberg and the City Council will be on hand. The annual Eugene Police vs. Springfield Police softball game will happen at 11 a.m. when the gates open to PK Park.

It is the last Sunday home game, meaning the last Throwback Sunday presented by PeaceHealth Medical Group. Hot dogs will be just $1 and the 1988 powder blue uniforms featured in Bull Durham will be auctioned off, with all money to Sacred Heart Medical Center. Special morning mimosas will be on sale for just $4.

Monday, August 13th at 7:05:
The Ems will host their second Good Karma Monday of the season. Fans will be able to name their own ticket price (on a full dollar amount) for the game. Half of each ticket sale will go to the Relief Nursery of Eugene. It is a great way to make the game affordable for all fans and help out a great cause. It will also beMargarita Monday presented by Northwest Community Credit Union, featuring $4 bike-blended margaritas.

Tuesday, August 14th at 7:05:
It is Micro Brewsday, featuring $4 Ninkasi and Oakshire beers all night. It is also Bi-Mart Tuesday where fans can get free parking and four tickets for $20 just by showing their Bi-Mart card.

Wednesday, August 15th at 7:05:
Happy Birthday Sluggo! The beloved mascot of the Emeralds will be celebrating his birthday all night with many of his furry friends. There will be a pre game kickball game with mascots from all over and other fun all night. Fans are asked to bring in a new toy or gift for Sluggo, which he will donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lane County. It is also Kids Eat Free Wednesday presented by Carl’s Jr. and Lone Pine Farmswhere every kid 12 and under will get a free hot dog, soda, apple and voucher for a free meal at Carl’s Jr.

Thursday, August 16th at 7:05:
With the world supposedly ending in December, catch a baseball game on End of the World Night. Students who show their college ID can get a ticket for just $5 and celebrate Thirsty Thursday, with $2 domestic beers and soda.

Friday, August 17th at 7:05:
Celebrate David Freese, the 2011 World Series MVP, with an Emeralds jersey presented by Key Bank for the first 1,000 fans. Freese batted .379 for the Ems in 2006 and was named a 2012 MLB All-Star. It is also Fred Meyer Friday. Stop by your local Eugene/Springfield Fred Meyer store and pick up a coupon good for $2 off tickets to the game.

Saturday, August 18th at 7:05:
Come to the last Pepsi Refreshing Saturday, featuring a Steve Prefontaine Bobblehead presented by Pepsi and KMTR for the first 1,000 fans. Celebrate the famed Eugene runner with the limited edition collectible. Prefontaine’s sister, Neta, will be at the game to throw out the first pitch and speak briefly before the game.
