Your 5-Day Forecast at a Glance

Since the Holiday weekend is over that means it’s time to get warmer. Just don’t expect it to last very long.

High: 87
Low: 49
Forecast: sunny and warmer

An upper level low (“U” shape in blue arrows shaded in grey) is moving eastward away from Oregon.  A weak frontal system moved through Oregon, but fell apart as it slid eastward with not much effect once again. A high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape in blue arrows offshore) will warm us up a bit this week just in time for the kids to go back to school. A more serious cold front will move through the Pacific Northwest on Sunday giving us a chance of rain by late Sunday night and Monday.

Forecast for the Southern and lower Mid Willamette Valley including Eugene-Springfield and Albany-Corvallis: Sunny and warmer today and Wednesday with mostly clear nights, sunny and a bit cooler Thursday, the mostly clear Thursday night highs 87-83  lows 49-52. Mostly sunny Friday, partly cloudy Friday night, a mix of clouds and sun and cooler Saturday, partly cloudy Saturday night, more clouds and cooler Sunday, then mostly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of rain Sunday night and Monday highs 85-70 lows 52-46. (seasonal averages high 80 low 49)

Because weather forecasting is a combination of science, intuition, and timing there can be no absolute guarantees that individual forecasts will be 100% accurate. Nature is in a constant state of flux and sudden unexpected weather events can happen.
