Oregon prepares to take on Tennessee Tech this weekend in what will be the Ducks’ final non-conference tune-up game before beginning Pac-12 play against Arizona at Autzen Stadium on September 22. But perhaps “tune-up game” is the wrong term to use here. After all, just this past Saturday, Arkansas faced Louisina-Monroe in a “tune-up game,” and that game dropped Arkansas from No. 8 clear out of the top 25 altogether. Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota called Tennessee Tech a “faceless opponent,” saying that if they just control what they can and continue to get better, they should be fine.
Oregon defensive coordinator agreed that Tennessee Tech could be a potentially dangerous opponent for the Ducks considering the fact that they have nothing to lose in a game like this where nobody expects much of anything from them.
“They have no expectations except to play better and get well,” said Aliotti. “They might let it hang loose. They might go for it on fourth down, who knows what they’re gonna do?”
Kickoff for the Tennessee Tech game is scheduled for 12:00 pm on Saturday and will air on the Pac-12 Networks.
