TrackTown Race Results: OTC Running Series #7 and More

There were 63 runners who competed in this 5k race, with 36 males and 27 female participants. In the men’s division Samuel McElwain took first place with a time of 17:54 (5:46) and first of all competitors. The women were led by Sarah Lloyd with a time of 18:57 (6:06) who took second place overall. Eight competitors ran sub-20 minute race times (six male, two female). The average time was just over 25 minutes.
This race in Corvallis featured both 10k runners, 5k and a one mile fun run. There were 24 10k competitors and 109 in the 5k. Some notes from the 10k were Jacob Howard (41:48 – 6:49) who ran away from the competition and Emily Dimick (45:52 – 7:23) who finished in first in the women’s side and second overall. In the 5k, Hayden Tedrow finished in first place with a time of 21:38 (6:58). Even more impressively was August Thorton, who finished second overall with a time of 21:59 (7:05). Why is it so darn impressive? He competed in the under 13 age bracket.
This 5k race, in its second year, is a charity to raise money and awareness for those suffering in the Republic of Congo. It’s presented by the City of Refuge International. Alex Jones took first place overall with a time of 15:37 (5:02) and Shelly Iverson finished in first in the women’s side (12th overall) with a time of 21:05 (6:48). A remarkable 168 runners raced in the event.
