Wine Down Eugene
Wine Down Eugene December 19-25
I love waking up to the ground and trees covered in snow. There’s a certain glow that comes through the blinds before the sun comes up – that glow is a sure sign that snow has been falling throughout the night. A nice hot cup of coffee next to the fireplace is definitely the way to start off a snowy day.
As the day progresses, and the kids are done building snowmen and warming their bellies with hot chocolate and a thousand or more marshmallows, I like to have my own kind of warm-me-up drink. First thoughts that come to mind are hot mulled wine, BFK Coffee (Bailey’s, Franjelica and Kahlua), Hot Buttered Rum or Spiced Apple Cider.
After recently enjoying an absolutely delicious hot mulled wine while visiting a very special vintage and collectibles shop named Valley Emporium, located in Carlton, Oregon, I’ve had mulled wine on my mind. So, where do I turn for recipes when in need? Pinterest, of course! In addition to coming across some excellent mulled wine and hot buttered rum recipes, I discovered a really neat infographic of Chirstmas Drinks From Around The World. Some of the drink recipes that caught my attention were Santa’s Stiff Hot Chocolate from The North Pole, Candy Cane Eggnog from New England, Sugar Plum Fairy from Tokyo and a White Russian Christmas from Siberia. I decided to pin the inforgraphic and create a new pin board just for Christmas cocktails – then I began searching my cupboards for the needed ingredients.
To check out this really cool infographic, visit my award-winning wine blog, WineJulia.com, and read Pinteresting: Christmas Drinks From Around the Globe. You may also visit my Pinterest pin board that is dedicated to a plethora of Christmas themed drink recipes: Christmas Cocktails.
Cheers, and have a holly jolly, very merry Christmas!
