Cold high pressure (shaded “Arch” shape) is moving through the the Pacific Northwest. That ridge aloft along with high pressure (Blue “H” off the coast) at the surface will keep storm systems away from the Pacific Northwest for the near future. Because weather forecasting is a combination of science, intuition, and timing there can be no absolute guarantees that individual forecasts will be 100% accurate. Nature is in a constant state of flux and sudden unexpected weather events can happen.
