#69 – Brandon Thomas

in By The Numbers/Firehose/Headline Feed/Rotator/Sports by

Oregon offensive lineman Brandon Thomas, a redshirt junior from West Linn High School (West Linn, OR), enters his third season in the Oregon program.

Before joining the Ducks, Thomas lettered two seasons in football while earning OSAA 6A all-state honorable mention his senior season. As a senior he was as also named to the Three Rivers League first team.

In 2010, Thomas joined the Ducks as a walk-on. He spent the season as a redshirt while helping with the scout team offense on the offensive line. At 6’4″ and 305 lbs, he had the size to play immediately but developed behind a talented group ahead of him

In 2011, Thomas continued to work as a member of the scout team and did not see the field.

In 2012, Thomas did not see the field again. He also did not participate in the 2013 Spring Game.

Heading into next season, Thomas will be in a battle for reserve playing time. He is behind the two-deep depth chart that includes Jake Fisher, James Euscher, Hamani Stevens, Everett Benyard III, Hroniss Grasu, Karrington Armstrong, Mana Greig, Andre Yruretagoyena, Tyler Johnstone and Jamal Prater.

Fortunately for Thomas Armstrong and Greig are both graduating after this season plus either Fisher and/or Johnstone could declare early. For Thomas, his goal should be to earn a scholarship with an additional season of solid work on the scout team.
