Each year, See’s Candies gives away 1 million pounds of free samples, just by walking into the store.

Oregon’s groundbreaking new charity law takes tax breaks away

State officials and nonprofit leaders believe Oregon is the first state in the nation to pass a charity law that punishes nonprofits that spend too little of their money on their missions.

Crops ripen quickly with sudden summer heat : ‘They just burned up’

The sudden summer heat made for an abrupt end to strawberry season, and some farmers fear a quick season for other crops. “Some strawberries will go to waste because they just burned up, they dehydrate ‘til they look so bad no one will buy them,” said farm owner Randy Henderson.
