It’s looking very likely that the Portland Timbers home stadium of Jeld-Wen Field could play host to the 2014 MLS All-Star game.

According to sources, Timbers owner Merritt Paulson, Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber and Portland Mayor Charlie Hale are expected to make an announcement later today at the stadium.

Rumors have been floating around since January of this year when the Timbers’ Paulson made a pretty obvious tweet.

“Also…So this year’s MLS All Star game will be in KC. I wonder where the 2014 MLS all-star game will be…wish I knew 😉 ”

It’s pretty incredible to think that in just their fourth season in the MLS they’ll be host to American soccer’s greatest stars. You better start saving your pennies, Timbers fans. With a max capacity of 22,000 at Jeld-Wen tickets will be unbelievably expensive and will sell fast.
