TRAIN LIKE YOU MEAN IT! will be hosting a DISASTER PREPAREDNESS EVENT this SATURDAY,
13 JULY, titled R U READY?, featuring acclaimed national speaker “Disaster Guru” James Roddey.
The Disaster Preparedness Event is being held at TRAIN LIKE YOU MEAN IT! to help educate the community on how to appropriately react to the most likely disasters to hit the pacific northwest, particularly Lane County. The event runs from 9am-3pm, with James Roddey giving 2 talks (10am & 1pm). The cost is a suggested $10 donation, with ALL proceeds going to the local CERT–the Community Emergency Response Team. There will be multiple LOCAL Disaster Preparedness-related VENDORS with booths & “show specials” available to the general public all day. Donations to CERT also make you eligible for the HOURLY vendor giveaways.
At 11:45am, Springfield Mayor Lundberg & the Springfield Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for a RIBBON-CUTTING ceremony, and at around 3pm, Selene Jaramillo from Lane County Public Health Emergency Preparedness will be holding a Q&A session, answering questions specific to Public Health issues in our area.
