#29 – Stephen Amoako

Oregon Ducks defensive back Stephen Amoako, a redshirt freshman from Martin High School (Arlington, Texas), enters his second season in the Oregon program.

Before joining the Ducks, Amoako played defensive back opposite his brother Eric Amoako who also signed with the Ducks. Stephen Amoako finished the season with 20 tackles, five pass deflections and three interceptions while being named a Gatorade National Performer as a senior.

Amoako earned three-stars from Scout, Rivals and 247Sports. He had offers from Arizona, Colorado State, Kansas State, Minnesota, North Texas, Pittsburgh and Purdue before signing with the Ducks.

In 2012, Amoako spent the season as a redshirt while sitting out year. He helped participate on the practice squad.

Amoako participated in the 2013 Oregon Spring Game recording five tackles (four unassisted, one assisted), which was fifth-most of any Duck.

Going into the 2013 season, Amoako will be in a crowded defensive backfield that features several of the top players in the country. With such depth at the position, Amoako isn’t likely to see extensive playing time this year, but should in 2014.
