Oregon men’s basketball ranked No. 17 in latest AP poll

The Oregon men’s basketball team is slowly climbing the rankings, as the most recent Associated Press poll has them moved up one spot to No. 17 in the nation.

Oregon (2-0) are coming off a 107-83 victory over Western Carolina. The team is ranked 10th in the Sports Illustrated power rankings and 18th in the coaches poll.

At the top of the AP poll sits Michigan State, who received 51 first place votes. This is the first time since 2001 that the Spartans have been ranked No. 1. Kansas and Louisville come in at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Kentucky, who was previously No. 1, dropped down to fourth after losing last week against the Spartans 78-74.

The Ducks are joined in the top-25 by two other Pac-12 teams: No. 5 Arizona and No. 22 UCLA. Colorado, Arizona State and Washington all received votes, though none were able to crack into the top-25 this week.

The top 10 is as follows (first place votes in parentheses):

1. Michigan State (51), 3-0, 1608

2. Kansas (7), 2-0, 1523

3. Louisville (7), 3-0, 1410
