Residents Give Input on Market District

6th and OakEUGENE, Ore. — What would you like to see built in downtown Eugene?

That’s what a group of developers were out to ask the community Friday.

Anyone had the chance to give their two cents about what should go into the market district. That’s the gravel lot near Oak and 6th Avenue.

Developers were taking input on what people want and don’t want to see in this area.

“All the way from we got to control the train noise, to people who want to live here and own their own condos and many ideas about needing a downtown grocery store,” said project developer Brian Obie.

There are two more public input sessions. They will take place on the gravel lot across Pearl Street from 5th Street Public Market from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 6 and 27.

Construction is expected to begin in fall of 2015.
