Eugene Emeralds Come Up Short Over Tri-City

Eugene Emeralds Starter Zach Lemond threw a near perfect three innings sitting down seven of the ten batters he faced. He would last however just those innings thanks to a fielding error by Second Baseman Jalen Goree allowing a runner in the third inning. The Ems had their chances to tie or take the lead in several inning, but it was not to be.

By the time the ninth inning came around it was too late for a rally as Eugene was down 3-0 and lost to Tri-City. The second half of the regular season starts 0-1 for Robbie Wine’s team. The Eugene Emeralds did battle in the ninth getting the game as close to 3-2, but they could not score the tying or winning run across the plate. The Ems started the second half of the season the way they played the first, by losing.

Eugene can get back to .500 in the second half of the season by winning on Wednesday night at 7:05 in the second of a five game series hosting Tri-Cities at PK Park, weather permitting. The remaining games this week are slated for 7:05pm starts. The Ems will then travel to Salem-Keizer for three games starting Sunday.
