Eugene Emeralds Drop Second in a Row at Boise

This has not been a great season for the Eugene Emeralds. The hope was to get back to two games over the .500 mark for the second half of the season following the series opening loss at Boise on Sunday night, however the game was on of Eugene’s worst losses of the season. Monday night was not much better as the Eugene Emeralds fell on the road to the Boise Hawks by a final of 11-6.

One bright spot this season is that the Eugene Emeralds are good at putting runs on the board first as they did it again in the second game of the series plating a run in the third inning. However Boise would come storming back off Eugene Pitching as Boise scored five runs in the bottom of the third and put the game essentially out of reach. The Eugene Emeralds did try for a late rally plating runs in the late innings, but it was not enough.

Boise has put themselves in prime position for a post season bid as Eugene will return home for one of the final two homestands of the season on Wednesday following the three game series finale at Boise. The game on Tuesday is set for a 6:15 Pacific Time first pitch.
