The Eugene Emeralds found their way to a quick start on Tuesday in the first of a five game road series at Everertt scoring four runs in the first frame of the game. They did not look back. Eugene also welcomed Marcus Davis back to the lineup following time off with an injury in a nice 9-4 win over the Aquasocks. Everett Starter Jefferson Medina did not have a good night.
After throwing seven innings in his last start the tables completely turned as he was unable to record a single out and was pulled after just six batters. Eugene Starter Zech Lemond had a better game in mind and by the sixth inning Eugene had extended their lead to 6-0. The Aquasocks would score three runs in the bottom of the fifth but ultimately it would not be enough as Eugene would command the game.
The two teams have a long week remaining and the Ems and Aquasocks will see each other four more times before Saturday’s finale. Each game this week is scheduled for 7:05 pm Pacific Time from Everett.
At this point in the season wins are much better than losses as Eugene still looks toward the post season. If the team can finish strong they may still have a chance to be playing once the regular season comes to a close. Following this week’s road trip the Eugene Emeralds return home for a five game series against Vancouver at PK Park next week.
