Vancouver Drops Eugene Emeralds 14-3 at PK Park, Take Series

It was ugly from the start on Wednesday night at PK Park. Vancouver jumped out to a 2-0 start in the top of the first and Canadians Starter Ricki Borucki threw five and two thirds innings of two hit ball to pick up the victory for Vancouver. Emeralds Starter Alex Constanza did not fair well in his three innings of work to start the night. He gave up seven runs on seven hits facing eighteen batters in that span.

The Emeralds did score a run in the bottom of the third, but for fans it was over at that point as Vancouver plated another five runs in the top of the inning making it 5-1 Vancouver. The Canadians would strike again for a five run seventh inning and an additional two runs in the top of the eighth against the Eugene bullpen which has had their moments of brilliance and their moments of complete collapse throughout the 2014 season.

Four games remain in the Northwest League schedule for the Eugene Emeralds including the final two games with Vancouver on Thursday and Friday and the final road trip of the season at Hillsboro starting on Saturday night. Eugene is currently on a three game losing streak and have now lost another series at home falling in the last three games(of this five game series) against Vancouver.
