Springfield Movie Theater Closing

Movies 12SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — More changes coming to the Gateway Mall, just weeks after Chuck-E-Cheese closed its doors.

A manager from Cinemark Movies 12, also referred to as “The Dollar Theater”, on Gateway confirmed Sunday is its last day in business.

Customers say they’re not happy to see the movie theater go because its cheap prices allowed for many people in the community to go see a movie who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it .

“I feel upset about it because it’s just a really easy way to see movies. It’s really inexpensive. I never go to the expensive theater. I always go to the cheap theater and it’s just really convenient,” said Jessi Saater, a Springfield resident.

The theater declined to comment on the closing.
