Yellow Point Fire Update, Sept. 8

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – The Yellow Point fire continues to burn 25 miles west of Cottage Grove.

The fire has burned 746 acres and was 15 percent contained as of Monday morning. Firefighters completed hand lines Sunday night and will focus on holding the established line and begin mop up operations Monday.

South Sisters Road east of the Upper Smith Road and South Sisters Road junction and Oxbow Access Road west of Siuslaw River Road are closed due to the fire.
