JUNCTION CITY, Ore. — Junction City Police Chief Mark Chase is still on paid administrative leave and residents are now asking questions about why it’s been so long.
City Administrator Melissa Bowers says Chase has been on leave since July 18. Although she wouldn’t go on camera. Bowers says it’s non-disciplinary, and they are investigating allegations made by staff within the Junction City Police Department.
Residents say they’re concerned and have questions, but would rather have all allegations investigated the right way.
“I’d rather have it investigated thoroughly and done right and so there’s no mistakes. If he’s found not guilty of whatever he’s doing, then he should be put back to work,” says Junction City resident Dave Walker.
