snuggerud, jennifer (1)EUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene woman is in the Lane County Jail accused of starting a fire in her own apartment.

Investigators say firefighters were called out at around midnight to the house. It’s split into individual apartment units.

Neighbors reported a tenant, Jennifer Snuggerud, was throwing burning material on the front porch of one of the apartments.

Crews were called out again at 7:00 a.m. for another fire, this time inside Snuggerud’s apartment.

“Newspapers, open flame like a lighter, set just inside the back door to this apartment. There are two doors to this place, and so then we of course contacted the resident at the hospital and she did make some admissions about what had happened,” said Detective Steve Williams.

Snuggerud was taken to the hospital for evaluation. She’s now facing multiple charges including: arson, menacing, and criminal mischief.
