A big welcome home for the Babcock family today. The community and volunteers gathering today for a dedication ceremony.
It took more than 70 volunteers six months to build the house. The Babcocks helped as well, putting in nearly 650 hours of their time. They say they’re ready to move from a one bedroom apartment into a new house.
“This is our first one and our only one. It feels great. It’s really a blessing to have everybody come together and help out,” said Alicia Babcock, the new homeowner.
Habitat for Humanity is planning a new project already, which they hope starts in March. The Babcocks will volunteer to help build that home as well.
