EUGENE, Ore. — Five Eugene officers and one officer from the Gresham Police Department have filed a lawsuit against Jeffrey Wade Argo and the Eugene Police Department.
The $1.75 million lawsuit centers around Argo, according to The Oregonian.
The six police officers said they were video recorded by Argo while they were going to the bathroom or in various states of undress inside a public restroom.
The lawsuit claims the EPD did an inadequate job of vetting Argo as an officer before hiring him in July 2012.
The group says the city would have known Argo was not fit to be an officer if it had conducted a proper background check.
Argo was sentenced in May to seven years in prison for encouraging child sex abuse.
EPD and the City of Eugene have yet to comment on this case.
