EUGENE, Ore. — The Eugene 4J School District has agreed to an exclusive deal with Nike, one that will outfit student athletes with Nike uniforms.
School board members approved the contract in a 5-2 vote on Wednesday night.
Nike will now provide at least $15,000 in apparel credits to each high school, as well as discounts on future purchases.
This wasn’t a quick decision for the school board. It had previously reached out to six other companies to see if they wanted to offer a similar package. Adidas was the only company to respond.
Nike then topped that deal, including $5,000 for outwear for coaches and event supervisors, among other benefits.
The contract is a five-year deal and will provide uniforms for the varsity teams.
