LANE COUNTY, Ore. — Excessive drinking is a growing problem in Oregon with a new study putting Lane County near the top of the list.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation published the study. It measures the number of adults reporting binge or heavy drinking.
The study ranks Multnomah County at 24% with the most excessive drinkers in the state, followed by Benton County at 23%, and Lane County at 22%.
The CDC said excessive drinking can lead to increased risk of health problems, like injuries, violence, liver diseases, and cancer.
