TUALATIN, Ore. – Police killed a man who they said was threatening neighbors and his family with a gun on Monday.
Tualatin police said 70-year-old Robert Wickizer fired several shots inside his house.
No one was hurt but two women reportedly escaped and fled to a neighbor’s house.
Officials said Wickizer tried to force his way into that home.
The neighbor, who was also armed, fired a warning shot.
When officers arrived, they tried unsuccessfully to negotiate with Wickizer.
“He was armed with a gun and based upon the actions he showed to officers, the officers were forced to use action against him,” said Captain Greg Pickering of the Tualatin Police Department.
The shooting is still under investigation and the officers are on administrative leave.
