Eugene Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A Eugene man is in jail, after repeatedly exposing himself at a grocery store.

Thanks to the vigilance of WinCo’s Loss Prevention staff, Anthony Baxter was arrested outside of the store Friday night. Police are now trying to identify the two young women he targeted.

The Springfield Police Department said it happened at the WinCo on Olympic St. at around 9:15 p.m.

Police said 47-year-old Anthony Baxter was searching for women who were shopping alone and when he would find one, he allegedly walked up behind them and exposed himself. Police said he then continued to follow them.

Officers said the security footage shows he would follow so close, that he was almost touching the women. They said it appears the women were unaware of Baxter’s actions.

Police said he was wearing a grey t-shirt that read “World’s Greatest Dad,” black running shorts with stripes and a green fanny pack. They said he also was carrying a red shopping basket. If this description sounds familiar, police said to call their non-emergency line: (541) 726-3714.

Officers said Baxter received medical treatment before being taken to the Springfield Municipal Jail and charged with Indecent Exposure.
