Collision between Car and Semi Causes Fuel Spillage

in Headline Feed by

EUGENE, Ore. – A collision between a car and a semi-truck blocked off part of a two-way street for more than an hour Saturday.

The accident happened around 11:50 a.m. on Chad Drive. Officials say a car driving eastbound on Chad Drive collided with a semi-truck after it made a wide turn in front of the vehicle.

The impact of the crash caused fuel to leak onto the street, which was cleaned up by Public Works.

Tom Phinney, the driver of the semi-truck recalled the accident, “About three-quarters of the way into my turn, I got broadsided into my passenger door by a car coming down on the right hand side of me.”
Officials said the woman in the car was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injures as a precaution and the driver of the semi-truck was not injured
