Moving Company Offers Free Service to Senior Citizens

EUGENE, Ore. – A local moving company is offering free services to the elderly for National Senior Citizens Day (August 21st).

Bellhops hires college students as their movers and offers competitive pricing compared to traditional moving companies. This is the second year the tech-enabled moving company will provide complimentary help for seniors.

In 2015, Bellhops provided more than $20,000 of free moving labor.
“We received so much great feedback after Senior Citizens Day last year, it was a no-brainer that we do it again this year,” said Cameron Doody, Bellhops cofounder and president. “My favorite part of last year’s giveaway was when I looked in our system to see what kinds of jobs our bellhops were doing. Few were actually helping seniors move from one residence to another. Instead, they were requested to help with chores and projects that our older customers simply hadn’t had the ability to do themselves – rearranging furniture, putting clothes in storage, stuff like that. I got emotional just reading some of our customer reviews.”

This year, Bellhops will be giving away $25,000 of free moving and lifting labor to seniors across the country. To take part in this initiative, seniors need to place their Bellhops orders over the phone at 888-836-3939 or at http://getbellhops.com.

The coupon code “SeniorDay2016” needs to be applied to order for seniors to get two bellhops for a full hour for free. Once booked, the jobs can take place at any point in the future. For services past the complimentary hour, the standard rate is $40 per hour.
