Eugene, Ore. – A bicyclist and his dog are both receiving medical treatment after police said they were hit by a car Friday evening in West Eugene. The crash happened on Highway 99N and Royal Avenue just after five o’clock. It shut down both northbound lanes for nearly two hours.
Officers said the bicyclist, Larry Lee Thomas, was crossing against the pedestrian sign at the time of the crash.
His dog was taken to an emergency vet hospital for treatment.
Officers arrested the driver for possession after finding a meth pipe, but said he was not impaired at the time of the crash.
