Top Nights Out In Eugene

Top Nights Out in Eugene

Not sure what to do the coming weekend in Eugene? Here are four of the best places to visit for a fun night out in Eugene.

Hi-Fi Music Hall

A new arrival on the Eugene scene is the Hi-Fi Music Hall which has been open for business a little over a year. It’s a hip new music venue and restaurant which you can find right in the heart of downtown. For a lot of local folk, the site of the new bar was previously known as the legendary Rock n’ Rodeo bar which was also popular in its own right. Now, re-launched as the HI-FI, the bar offers multiple stages, of varying sizes, which helps keep the music varied for 700 person capacity crowd which is almost always filled. The bar comes with two full service bars, as well as an outdoor patio which, over the summer, also played host to live music, but still cuts a chilled and relaxed vibe. The restaurant serves a variety of tacos, wraps, sandwiches and burgers while the bars are well stocked with all of your favourite beverages.

Jackalope Lounge

An old school, but not old fashioned, sports bar, the next stop on our list is the Jackalope Lounge which presents a far more authentic slice of Eugene life. Making no attempt to cater for the hipsters and the trendies, this is a warm and welcoming place where locals mix happily with tourists inside the bar or outside on the patio terrace. With 11 TVs scattered throughout the building, it also attracts a decent sports crowd looking to watch any and every sport available. Like any good bars, there is a range of games to enjoy such as pinball, darts, pool, Big Buck Hunter, Bowling, and Golden Tee and Video Poker. The lounge also comes with a lengthy sandwich and burger menu, plenty of which can be ordered to go so if you’re on the hunt for a relatively quiet end to your night out, make this the last stop of the evening.

Three Rivers Casino

Little over an hour’s drive west, lies the Three Rivers Casino. A Native American Casino in Florence, Oregon the casino is home to more than 90,000 square foot gaming space. Open around the clock the casino resort has over 750 gaming machines and eleven table and poker games. On these eleven tables, 6 are dedicated to Blackjack and two to Poker with the other tables offering Craps, Pai Gow Poker and Roulette. It might be worth it to check out some of the casino games on your mobile phone beforehand so you know what is expecting you before going to Three Rivers Casino. The Casino also has three restaurants serving excellent food, an extremely well stocked bar and two hotels with ninety-three rooms between them.

The Cooler

Located within walking distance of Autzen Stadium, the home field of the Oregon Ducks, The Cooler has established itself as football game-day tradition that reaches back almost 50 years. To many people polled, including students from the nearby University of Oregon, it is considered Eugene’s favourite sports bar serving great food and cold drinks just perfect for a tailgate. The Cooler is shaped like an airplane hangar and decked out with sports memorabilia. The wood walls and ceilings help to reign in the noise, no bad thing given the clientele. All of this adds to match day atmosphere as, pre-game, people pack out the bar to get in themselves in the zone, while after the match the fans return for a little post-game action, when a DJ spins records on stage. Here, you can also enjoy live music, karaoke and other televised sports on a dozen indoors TV screens, one of which is supersized, plus there is another four outside. And, what’s more, they have an all-day menu meaning you can get your breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Cooler too.
