NO BLOOMS HAVE BEEN DETECTED AT THIS TIME, BUT BLOOMS CAN DEVELOP THROUGHOUT THE SEASON AND IN AREAS THAT ARE NOT VISUALLY MONITORED BY JEFFERSON COUNTY , OREGON STATE PARKS, OR THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE. THE ADVISORY WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT THROUGH NOVEMBER 1, 2019. A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE RIVER.

An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with arrows) is sliding over us as an Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (Shaded “U” shape with arrows) moves eastward toward us. The graphics for days 1-3 show front moving through the Pacific Northwest today and Sunday. The graphics for days 3-7 the parade of fronts headed our way Monday through next Friday.
Note: Mt. Ashland is open for skiing on their regular schedule Thursdays through Mondays. Willamette Pass will is open Wednesday through Sunday. Hoodoo is open Thursday through Monday. Please check their websites for updated information.
