The Oregon Ducks wrapped up their non-conference schedule in fine fashion with a 2-0 result against Idaho on Sunday afternoon after dropping the University of Portland 2-1 earlier in the week.
The win over the Pilots was the first for the Ducks since the program was reinstated in 1996 – a sting of 16 straight defeats. That changed with Chardonnay Curran’s 79th minute goal.
Marissa Everett earlier knotted the match at one on a penalty kick, setting the stage for Curran’s late game heroics over a side that has a history of success on the national level the Ducks have in the past only been able to aspire to.
Everett was the mainstay in Sunday’s win over the Vandals with a pair of first half goals to give the Ducks a sparkling 6-1-1 mark as they head into Pac-12 play Friday night at Pape` Field against Utah. First touch is set for 7:00 pm.
