With the Blazers struggling—they are 2-5 through Monday—Stotts needs to begin to realize that he no longer has Dirk Nowitzki at power forward. What he does have is a dominating post player with good range to keep defenses honest. If this realization happens later and not sooner, the Blazers could be facing a long year.
The Oregon Ducks’ first three wins were all blowouts over overmatched foes and many pundits in the national media were hyping the duo of De’Anthony Thomas and Marcus Mariota as potential Heisman and All-American candidates.
In what was the second-largest crowd in MLS history, the Seattle Sounders handily defeated the Portland Timber at Century Link Field 3-0 Sunday evening. The raucous crowd of 66,452 draped in green had plenty to cheer about as the Sounders denied the Timbers a bid for the Cascadia Cup.
