Selected to be one of the judges, Battledish is an international chef competition that takes place in cities around the world, and here in Eugene, six chefs from six different restaurants concocted some incredible dishes and drinks for participating food enthusiasts and our panel of six judges – all in hopes of being crowned the Battledish King.

The Gals didn’t go to Sweetwaters to eat, but it just so happened that way, and we were glad it did. Maria, Jennifer and I originally went to Sweetwaters for the Deschutes Brewery ‘Rockin’ on the River’ River Ale Release Party. With three VIP passes in hand, we were excited to try the just-released golden ale dubbed as “a session beer with craft soul.”
There’s been a recent wave of new businesses and restaurants opening in downtown Eugene, and these recent openings, along with the buzz of several future openings, have the Lunch Gals pretty excited.
