Oregon’s run at a national championship may be due in large part to a true freshman

The recruiting class of 2014 was in the sixth grade when Dennis Dixon nearly led the Ducks to a national championship. They were in the eighth grade when Jeremiah Masoli took the team to their first Rose Bowl in 15 years. They were freshmen when Oregon competed for their first ever national championship in 2010. Recruits have known Oregon as a football powerhouse since they’ve been following college football.

When you watch a game on TV or observe in the stands, there’s going to be pieces of the game you miss out on. Here I’ll dive into the key parts of the game you may have missed.

Oregon has great running backs; that’s a given. But imagine if Lache Seastrunk, Dontae Williams and Tra Carson had stayed with the team? Can you imagine all that talent? This may be the year all the transferring catches up with the Ducks.

The No. 7 Oregon State Beavers (26-6, 8-2) and No. 9 Oregon Ducks (25-8, 10-3) baseball teams have silently dominated Pac-12 baseball thus far. At first and second place respectively in the conference, both of the Oregon schools are sitting in prime position for a strong opportunity to not only make the NCAA Tournament, but to host a regional/super regional and possibly a run into the College World Series (CWS).
