The very active Eugene Foodies! Facebook Group, a community of like-minded food lovers in Eugene, has grown rapidly over the last several months, calling for a Foodie Pot Luck get together that ended with 105 pounds of donated food for Food for Lane County.

Local Lunch Gals Solo: Laughing Planet Café

Laughing Planet Cafe’s approach to the food they serve is to get the food from farm to plate as quickly as possible. Whether it’s grass-fed beef from Carman Ranch in Wallowa, Oregon, or vegetables from farms on Sauvie Island along Oregon’s Columbia River, they support the local economy by sourcing foods from local farmers.

Local Lunch Gals: SweetWaters on the River and the new Deschutes River Ale

The Gals didn’t go to Sweetwaters to eat, but it just so happened that way, and we were glad it did. Maria, Jennifer and I originally went to Sweetwaters for the Deschutes Brewery ‘Rockin’ on the River’ River Ale Release Party. With three VIP passes in hand, we were excited to try the just-released golden ale dubbed as “a session beer with craft soul.”
