I contemplated dedicating an installment of my column to horror books later in the month, but books take a while to read, and if I wait too long to recommend a horror book you might not get around to reading it in time.
Last week I made the mistake of choosing Arizona over Oregon State because I keep expecting the Beavers to lose, and it cost me. I don't think anybody but Husky fans saw the upset over Stanford happening. Ted Miller of ESPN is now within 1 game of tying my record, but I have a good feeling about this week. I'm feeling like I'll go 5-0.

This week the Pac-12's non-conference schedule isn't as tough as last week's as it features 3 FCS teams, and 2 winless FBS teams. Conference play opens up with with USC visiting Stanford, while Cal, Utah, and Arizona State have tough non-conference games.
As a former member of the army reserves I find rule books to be awfully depressing (when you have to follow the rules), and so I don't blame the Family Guy-version of Dr. House for chucking this book out the window. But I find rule books to be mildly entertaining and a twinge on the funny side of the fence when you don't have to follow the rules.

After about a minute of relaxing I wished I had something to read because I often find that reading is the only way I can relax.
