Lose the scissors, Keep the savings
by Lindsey Asay – Eugene On The Cheap

Whether they are clipped or clicked, coupon use is at an all time high. Despite the up-turn in the economy, consumers continue to use coupons at an increasing rate. Most of us can remember Mom cutting coupons out of the Sunday paper, neatly organizing the ever-growing pile. Coupons in hand, she’d tackle the aisles of the grocery store, pausing every so often to navigate her way through the unruly stack of savings. Those days are far from gone, but todays shopper has options beyond the Sunday paper.

First step in modern couponing is to put down the scissors and pick up your smartphone. Finding a virtual coupon is a click away thanks to sites like Groupon.com and LivingSocial.com, which are gaining in popularity. Just type in your city and see what deals are available in your area. Many brands and manufacturers offer coupons direct to customers via their websites. Coupons.com is another great site for a wide variety of savings from toothpaste to diapers. No printer? No problem. Coupons can be e-mailed or texted to your phone. All you have to do is show or scan your phone at the register!

Happy Saving!
