State assigns suspect in officer’s killing a death-penalty attorney
The state office that chooses death-penalty attorneys has selected a Silverton lawyer to defend a woman accused of shooting to death a Eugene police officer.

Flags lowered in honor of Officer Kilcullen
The governor ordered flags in Lane County to be flown at half-staff through Friday evening in honor of Eugene Police Officer Chris Kilcullen.
