FRIDAY: Night on the Town

Friday night – the weekend starts tonight:

There’s nothing like live music to make you appreciate the weekend.  Sometimes it makes you glad there’s only 2 nights per weekend.  Tonight you’ve a broad range of choices from our picks:  Serious surf – old school progressive jazz – NW blues.  An honorable mention goes out to Lonesome Randall – a local vintage player, take you way back to when you know what you were protesting and why.

EDN picks:

Surfs Up: Seven Surfers & Dick Danger – Black Forest, 10pm, no Cover. Real surf, real cool.

Catch the Oblivion Express: McTuff Trio – Downtown Lounge, 10pm, $10. Almost like going back in-time to when progressive jazz and progressive rock ruled. Not hip? don’t bother.

Blue Note: Ty Curtis Band – Mac’s at the Vets Club, 9pm – $8 at door. Blues isn’t a first choice, but when Ty Curtis, or the Sultans of Slide are around, you make an exception.
