General Manager Candidates Interview for Top Post

Lane Transit District (LTD) General Manager Mark Pangborn will retire June 30, 2011.  Mr. Pangborn has been with the District for nearly 29 years and has held positions including Director of Administrative Services, Assistant General Manager, and General Manager.

A nationwide search has been conducted by the Generator Group, a Portland Oregon firm specializing in executive searches.  Sixty-seven (67) professionals from throughout the United States submitted resumes.  Following a screening process, phone interviews, and a candidate review by the LTD Board of Directors, a pool of three finalists have been selected to participate in a series of interviews.

The interview process will take place April 27–29, and will involve panels comprised of employees, community leaders, and the LTD Board.  The LTD Board will utilize feedback from all panelists to assist in its selection of LTD’s fifth general manager.

Lane Transit District (LTD) will host a public forum on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1062 Charnelton Street, Eugene, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in order to provide an opportunity for the community to hear from three finalists for the position of LTD’s next general manager.  Questions for the candidates and written comments will be accepted at the forum.

The sign-up period to submit questions will open at 5:00 p.m. and close at 5:45 p.m. Due to time constraints, not all questions will be asked of the candidates. Each candidate will be given 30 minutes to answer questions, and each candidate will be asked the same questions. Written comments will be accepted until 8:30 p.m., directly following the close of the public forum.
