Friday – Night on the Town

/// to the beat of a different strummer...

Friday the 13th night on the town that is. Lots of the usual suspects around town tonight from the Bad Mitten Orchestra to the Conugal Visitors, both worth catching anytime, but after time in the hills last night, and a healthy dose of sunshine today, tonight calls for a little more…action. Unfortunately it seems it’s acoustic week in Eugene….not that there’s anything wrong with that:

Not Acoustic: Freek-Nite – Cowfish, 9pm – $N/C. This weekly dance party features the Audio Schizophrenic, Aaron Speck, and guests pushing out a mega-mash of underground and club classics rarities with an artfully blended array of house music that only Speck is capable of. Not my prose, thats from the site. You should know, this isn’t for the timid. Great sound, friendly staff and the party feels like you are a thousand miles away from Eugene. Cowfish – 62 Broadway Eugene, Oregon 97401

Take Your Chances: Ashtree – The Astoria, 9pm – $N/C. The Astoria can be a cozy place. We haven’t been in there for awhile, but we understand things are looking up. Ashtree? No idea, but in acoustic avoidance mode, sometimes you’ve gotta take a chance. The Astoria – 2406 West 11th Avenue Eugene, OR 97402

Can’t Explain: Bad Mitten Orchestra – Sam Bonds, 9pm – $5. If you can’t avoid it, may as well enjoy it. With BMO you will. to the beat of a different strummer...
