CORVALLIS, Ore. — The 13th annual da Vinci Film Festival will feature a film on a local celebrity Wednesday night.


Keiko The Untold Story will premiere at 7 p.m at the Darkside Cinema, and again on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Majestic Theatre.


Keiko was the star of the 1993 hit film Free Willy, and attracted support for the release of animals held in captivity.


The film follows his life from stardom to his untold years in Iceland and Norway.


The Filmmaker and Director Theresa Demarest will be watching both local showings of the film.


Demarest’s son was born in Corvallis and says she is looking forward to sharing this incredible story with old friends.


The film has already won numerous awards at film festivals across the country including:

The next stop for Keiko The Untold Story is at the New York City International Film Festival in August.
