Doomsday for some, but just another wet Friday for the rest of us

The Winter Solstice was official at 3:12 AM PST today and that marked the official beginning of Winter and the shortest day of the year. For more detail see The Old Farmer’s Almanac. See, it was not the end of the world.

Another upper level trough of low pressure is moving down from the Gulf of Alaska following the one that is moved away from us. A frontal system slowly moved through Oregon on Thursday. Part of that storm is moving through Northern California spinning precipitation into the area between Roseburg and Medford. That upper level low will continue hanging around keeping our weather showery. A new frontal system will be approaching the Pacific Northwest Christmas morning. Sorry, no white Christmas for the valleys only the mountains.
