Barre3 was founded in 2008 by renowned fitness and wellness expert Sadie Lincoln (native of Eugene), whose highly effective system of one inch isometric variations and fluid motions take inches off the body for immediate and continuous results. Each class follows a thoughtful 3-step sequence for fast body shaping results and long-term postural benefits.
Barre3 is an innovative fitness system and global network of studios inspired by the disciplines of yoga, Pilates and ballet barre work.
“The ballet barre is designed to support the body in both static and dynamic movement which leads to long, lean muscles,” explains barre3 founder Lincoln.
“Barre3 evolves the traditional dancer’s workout by integrating the grace of ballet barre work, the wisdom of yoga and the strength of Pilates. This powerful combination creates a dancer’s body: long, lean and graceful lines of a dancer – with the core strength of an athlete.”
From her flagship studio in Portland, Oregon, Lincoln has been instrumental in launching the barre-based workout craze with over 50 franchised locations across the US and abroad. Barre3 appears to be adored by everyone from busy moms to A-list celebrities, earning media attention dubbed by US Weekly as “Madonna’s Hot Ballet Workout” (Lincoln her trainer), and featured in other national publications such as InStyle, Self, Women’s Health, Vogue, Shape and USA Weekend Magazines. The barre3 DVD was awarded Fitness Magazine’s “best of 2010” award. Just recently, barre3 was featured in the May issue of Marie Claire as “a workout that will kick your butt with calorie-torching exercises like painfully slow crunches and near impossible squats done on the balls of your feet.”
Each barre3 studio is locally owned and operated by female entrepreneurs who are passionate about barre3. All instructors have undergone advanced training under Lincoln’s leadership.
