Former Duck track athlete Nick Symmonds, now an olympic athlete, took the second-fastest 800m time in his career, en route to a silver medal in that category at the Brussels Diamond League Meet.
He finished the race in 1:43.03, eight-hundreths of a second slower than his personal best, and less than a second off the winning time by Ethiopia’s Mohammed Aman.
The Oregon Track Club Elite member took second to Aman in this event a month ago at the world championships as well.
Symmonds set his 800m personal best time at Olympic Stadium in London last August.
